I know, it’s been a while.
Since becoming the Editor of HotVWs Magazine, my plate is exceptionally full. That means I’ve been tethered to my desk a lot, learning as much as possible, and making sure the magazine runs as smoothly as possible behind the scenes.
For those who have seen recent issues, I hope you’ve been enjoying them!
On the flip side, even though I’ve been traveling a lot more to cover events - I’ve had to leave my film camera at home. Film and airport x-ray machines don’t mix. Getting a hand scan of your film with TSA is a pain, so I take it out of the equation and leave it at home.
I finally made it out to a couple local events and finished off a roll this month, and here are the results.
This time, I used a different, untested camera - a Canon Rebel EOS 2000. I don’t even know how this camera came to be part of my collection, yet here it is. It was manufactured some time between 1999 and 2002. The interesting thing about it - it uses the same lenses as my current everyday camera. So I could mount any of my lenses on this body and not rely on the kit lens it came with.
The only roll of film I had on hand was Fuji 400, so that’s what I used.

These photos are from the Wurst Dam Car Show in Boulder City, NV, and a Celebrity Cars and Coffee event in Henderson, NV.
Looks like the camera performed pretty well. I had it on automatic for most of the shots just to see how it would do. It missed focus a couple times, but in all, I feel it did ok. I think I would use it again with some 200 speed Kodak film on a nice bright day and check the results.
